Farm Membership

Our farm membership is free! And gives you access to the fresh eggs and veggies from our farm, as well as many more good things.

How It Works:

  1. Sign up for free, and you’ll get our weekly emails
  2. Visit our online shop to see what we have each week
  3. Choose what you want, and when you want to pick up your order
  4. You can buy our CSA Credits to get a generous 20% CSA Member’s discount on everything! (optional)

Our farm uses no pesticides of any kind! Not even the “organic pesticides” that you may find on your grocery store organic produce. We use the best organic, regenerative, and permaculture type practices on the farm. Our chickens are outside and we move them to fresh pasture regularly, so they can have access to fresh clean grass and bugs all summer.

CSA Share of vegetables
A share from 2022 season. Thanks to one of our members for the great photo.

What you get:

Every week, you can order stuff from our farm. You can choose from any of the produce that we currently have in season. The things we produce each year are:

  • Eggs
  • Lettuce, Spinach, Kale, Chard, Cabbage, Bok Choi
  • Tomatoes, Peppers, Zucchini, Cucumbers, Squash
  • Carrots, Beets, Radishes, Turnips, Potatoes
  • Onions, Garlic, Scallions, Chives, Cilantro, Parsley, Basil, Mint, Oregano, Thyme
  • Sweet Potatoes (sourced from my friend’s organic farm)
  • Herbal teas and incense
  • Herbal skincare and bath salts
  • Crafts and art (embroidery, jewellery, hats, clothing, watercolour paintings – often made from farm grown/found materials)

Where:

We have various pick-up options, for where and when you can pick up your share:

  • Friday at the farm, (1522 Moore Dr, Cavan) from 1pm to 6pm
  • Saturday at the Peterborough Farmer’s Market, 7am to 1pm ( 136 Lansdowne St)
  • Sunday at the Millbrook Farmer’s Market, which is every Sunday from 10am to 1pm at the elementary school on road 10.
  • Monday at the farm, (1522 Moore Dr, Cavan) from 1pm to 6pm

We are also pretty flexible, so feel free to ask for a different pick up time when you need it.

How much:

Membership is free! Just sign up to become a member and start getting our emails. Once you do, you’ll have access to our online shop where you can see what we have available each week.

We also offer CSA credits! For $400, you can get 500 in CSA credits. The CSA credits work just like a gift card, except you’re getting $100 more of veggies! So it effectively gives you a 20% discount on everything you buy, until you use them up.

This improves on the traditional CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), so you don’t have to get a set box every week to support us.

If you’ve ever been part of a CSA and thought, “I don’t want kohlrabi, I’d prefer more lettuce” or, “I’m getting too many vegetables!” then you will surely appreciate this improved version that we offer. Just use the credits like a gift card, whenever and however you like!

If you want CSA credits, just ask! You can pay with cash or e-transfer, and I’ll then add the credits to your account.

Social Media

You can follow us on instagram at @fields_farmstead to see what we’re up to.  We (try to) regularly post garden updates, so you can see how the garden is doing, and what veggies you might be eating soon.

Why?

We believe healthy, naturally grown food should be affordable and accessible to all. Our farm is about growing food with love, respect, and care for the Earth, which we do through our farming practices. This membership is our invitation to share that vision with you.

Our Values

Field’s Farmstead is a private farm community rooted in spiritual care for the Earth and living in right relationship with nature. We grow and share food as an expression of these values, not as a commercial business.

The money we receive helps cover the cost of growing and sharing food. This is not a public sale, but a spiritual tradition of care, similar to how churches share bread and wine as part of their faith.

By joining us, you agree to engage in a spirit of respect, care, and goodwill, understanding this as a friendly relationship, not a customer contract. You agree not to use the government, courts, or lawyers against us or anyone involved here. This is like sharing food with friends and neighbors, not buying from a store.

If any courts, governments, corporations, or lawyers use their powers to interfere with us, our farm, or our mission to grow and share healthy, clean food, they violate our rights, their duty to respect freedom of religion and expression, and their promise to recognize the supremacy of God.

Potlucks

We host casual potlucks occasionally during the warm season. This is a chance to share food, make friends, and enjoy the farm together.

You’ll hear about upcoming potlucks through our emails.

Please bring your own plates, cups, cutlery, chairs, and anything else you need to be comfortable.

These visits are also a great time to see the farm in person, ask questions, and to see where your food comes from.

Your Data, How the Website Works, Leaving the Membership

To be a member, you have to make an account. I ask you for as little information as I possibly can. Basically just your name and email.

I made this website using wordpress and plugins for wordpress (woocommerce is the main one). The website system will keep track of various things, like your CSA credits, what you order, and stuff related to that. It helps me organize the CSA without keeping me too long from my garden. I don’t sell any of your data and I respect your privacy.

If you ever want to leave the membership and stop getting the emails, just let me know. I’ll remove you from the list and remove all your data from the website as best as I can.
